Comedian who famously called Trump the C-word dies at 63

Scottish comedian Janey Godley, who became famous for holding a sign that called Donald Trump the C-word, died of ovarian cancer at 63, according to her daughter.
Godley gained worldwide fame in 2016 by holding a sign in front of former Trump’s Turnberry Golf Resort in Scotland that said, “Trump is a c—” before he was elected.
She duplicated the deed in October, when she posted a photo of herself in her bed and intubated, holding a T-shirt that said, “Trump is still a c—.”
Godley found viral fame with her dubbed videos of First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon’s Covid briefings during the pandemic.
In a BBC documentary called “Janey,” Godley talked about her impending death.
“I don’t know how I’ll feel…I don’t know what dying is,” she said. “The great thing is nobody knows what’s there, so it’s not like I can take a TripAdvisor recommendation, because nobody knows what it is because nobody’s come back to tell us. So that’ll be the end.”
Her daughter Ashley Storrie thanked Godley’s “found family” for their support “throughout these last horrible days.”
In a video posted on social media, Storrie said: “I wanted to tell you face to face because it felt very much what she would have wanted. She went peacefully, and I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.”
She thanked Godley’s followers for their kindness and support.
“I believe in my heart of hearts that she felt every bit of love you sent to her,” she said. “I think it kept her going, genuinely we got her longer because of all the support and the love in the world.”
