Weighing your pet: First - Place the scale on a flat, level, hard surface making sure all four sensors/feet are in contact evenly with the surface. Do not attempt to weigh if the scale teeters or rocks; you must find a flat, hard surface. Do not attempt to weigh on carpet or a soft surface. Never leave a pet unattended on the scale. Second - Press the On/Off button, 0: 0 will appear on the display screen. Place your pet on the scale platform near the center or evenly distributed. When the pet is relatively still, press the Hold button. (Note: you must press the Hold button for the scale to calculate and record the weight in the display screen) The display screen numbers will flash several times while determining the correct weight and then automatically display the weight for about six seconds before turning off.
